Wig Care Guide
Follow these care tips from our stylists to keep your wig in top condition and ready for your next convention.
Daily Care
• Always use a wide-tooth comb or a wig brush – never use a regular comb.
• Start combing from the ends and work your way up.
• When not in use, store your wig on a wig stand or in a hair net.
• Avoid prolonged direct sunlight to prevent fading.
How to Wash Your Wig
1. Fill a basin with cool water and add a small amount of wig shampoo or a mild shampoo.
2. Gently immerse the wig in the water – do not rub.
3. Soak for 5-10 minutes.
4. Rinse with clean, cool water.
5. Gently pat dry with a towel – do not wring.
6. Place the wig on a wig stand and allow it to air dry completely before styling.
⚠️ Washing frequency: Wash after every 3-5 wears or after attending a convention.
Heat Styling
All KAMIYA Atelier wigs are heat resistant up to 100°C.
• Use a medium to low heat setting.
• Always test on a small, inconspicuous section of the wig first.
• Using a heat protectant spray is recommended.
• Curling irons, straighteners, and hair dryers can be used safely.
Storage Tips
✓ Store in the original packaging or a wig bag.
✓ Place tissue paper inside the wig to maintain its shape.
✓ Store in a cool, dry place.
✓ Use a wig stand for styled wigs.
✗ Do not store in a plastic bag – it can cause tangling.
Convention Travel Tips
• Store your wig in a wig bag and use a wig stand.
• Carry a small spray bottle with water and fabric softener (10:1 ratio) for quick detangling.
• Bring styling tools: bobby pins, got2b hairspray, wig clips.
• Arrive early at the venue to adjust your wig before the event starts.
